Bundaberg

Finda a viajem nas Withsundays, foi tempo de voltar a estrada rumo a sul. Paragem rapida em Bundaberg, terra famosa pelo rum, mas a intencao era visitar uma zona de protecao de tartarugas marinhas ai existente. E com efeito nao podiamos ter escolhido melhor altura para o fazer: estavamos na epoca do ano em que as tartarugas vem a praia para desovar. Uma das melhores e mais bem organizadas experiencias de Eco-Turismo que tive oputunidade de realizar. Alias a mentalidade de conservacao ambiental e muito forte na Australia, nao fosse quase a totalidade de turistas serem atraidos a este pais pelas suas belezas naturais e uma grande parte da populacao viver dos mesmos. Em quase todos os lugares que visitamos encontramos uma harmoniosa simbiose entre humanos e Natureza.

Finished the Withsundays trip, the time was to be back on the road. A quick stop in Bundaberg to see the sea turtles in our way south. It couldn´t had been a better time to do it. This was the time of the year when the turtles come ashore to lay the eggs. It was the best Eco-tourism tour that i have done. Everything was very well organized and the thought of the well being of the turtles came allways first. But almost every place that we visited in Oz we found an almost perfect symbiose between Humans and Nature.
Nevertheless was an amazing sight to witness the this step in the life cicle of the sea creatures.
