Tuk Tuk

Templo

Another "wat" on ther shores of the river that flows along the heart of Bangkok, a river that is just like a motorway with freight boats, taxi boats, bus boats all going up and down non stop.

Huaqing Hot Spring 2

A dream place full of gardens, lakes, hot springs and fabolous small corners surrounded by the natural beauty of the mountains.

Huaqing Hot Spring

In the outskirts of Xian we found one of most beautiful places that I visited in China. A spa resort in the mountains for the emperor and mistresses (he didnt like to be alone).

Soldados Terracota

Xian.

A Grande Muralha

A Grande Muralha...

The Great Wall…
More than two a thousand years old and all the knoeledge about it couldn't have prepared me for such largeness. Simply magestic. The crawling it is part of the joy of experiencing such a place. At least in some parts or you crawl or you climb grasped to the rail, any other way to climb it is like an act of circus without safety net, especially when the floor is wet as that was the case. 3 km of steps, the dream of any woman who attends step classes in the gym afterwork. 4 hours of up and down , complemented with a fabalous view of the mountains and a muscle pain in my legs that last the rest of the week as a reminder of such greatness.

Great Wall

After being acommodated in one hostel situated in the one of the “Hutongs” (traditional Chinese areas) of Beijing the time was for discovering the city and its outskirts. First impression: everything exists in XL size: roads, buildings, shopping malls, the traffic, the bicycles, the neighbourhoods…after all, seems that 50 million people live in Beijing alone…
The food this and another surprising thing...not for the quality in itself, but for the fact of the menu to be written in Chinese. The decision:
1. look into one of photos of the dishes with better aspect (artistic), that came as attachement to the menu in some restaurants. For the lost in translation soul.Or:
2. roulette style: I would like plate number 32 and 27 please, and as I feel a little out of luck the 13 and the 15 just in case the first two ones are a bad choice… the result is easy to imagine.
The good thing about China is that opposite to everything else, prices come in a XS size…If I was coming back home after the Chinese adventure I would come back heavier, a lot heavier. Clothes, shoes, musical instruments, everything one can find in any part of the western world costing the same as the rain, or almost the same…
